Active substances :
nicergoline - 10 mg.
A drug that improves cerebral and peripheral circulation, with alpha-adrenergic blocking, as well as activating the metabolism.
Reduces vascular resistance, increases arterial blood flow and the consumption of oxygen and glucose by brain tissues. Lowers pulmonary vascular resistance. Reduces platelet aggregation and improves hemorheological parameters.
Increases blood flow in the vessels of the upper and lower extremities, especially in cases of impaired blood flow due to functional arteriopathy. Clinical trials have shown Sermion's high efficiency in cases of cerebrovascular accident and arterial blood flow insufficiency in the vessels of the upper and lower extremities.
Taking Sermion in therapeutic doses, as a rule, does not affect blood pressure. In patients with hypertension, the drug can cause a gradual decrease in blood pressure.
Studies of the pharmacokinetics of the drug Sermion have not been conducted.
- Acute or chronic vascular or metabolic cerebral insufficiency: atherosclerosis; cerebral thrombosis or embolism; transient cerebral ischemic attacks.
- Acute or chronic peripheral vascular insufficiency: obliterating diseases of limb vessels; Raynaud's Syndrome; other syndromes characterized by impaired peripheral circulation.
Pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy, the drug is prescribed only for strict indications. In experimental studies, no teratogenic effect of nicergoline was revealed.
- Acute bleeding;
- acute myocardial infarction;
- orthostatic hypotension;
- hypersensitivity to nicergoline.
On the part of the cardiovascular system: rarely - a feeling of heat and flushing of the face.
From the side of the central nervous system: rarely - drowsiness, insomnia.
From the digestive system: rarely - mild gastric disorders.
With the simultaneous use of Sermion can potentiate the effect of antihypertensive drugs.
How to take, course of administration and dosage
Inside, the drug is prescribed 5-10 mg 3 times / day with the same intervals between doses for a long period of time. To improve absorption, the drug should be taken between meals.
In some cases, it is advisable to start treatment with parenteral administration of the drug (Sermion por.liof.d / in. 4 mg fl. 4 ml [with r-lem] pack. 4 Pfizer) with subsequent transition to oral administration during maintenance therapy.
Currently, not a single case of overdose has been described.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms requiring increased concentration of attention
Sermion helps to improve concentration.
The effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles and work with mechanisms has never been studied.
Nevertheless, taking into account the disease for which the drug is prescribed, it is recommended to exercise caution when driving or working with mechanisms.
